Brief Reflections on Capitalism

Am I a socialist? Yes. A communist? Maybe. An anarchist? Probably. What I do know for certain is that I hate capitalism with the full, honest anger of my being. If, as is likely, capitalism continues to prevail, then the many problems that currently beset our world will only fester and grow worse, dragging humanity further and further away from any semblance of common virtue.

Capitalism, as can be clearly seen by any child whose eyes are at least half open, is thoroughly dishonest, totally immoral, and utterly wrong. Capitalism is, in essence, merely an active form of pure selfishness, vigorously manifesting itself without caution or concern, to the constant, inevitable detriment of truth, peace, equality, equity, and other necessary values.

Capitalism is a vile conspiracy of ruthless intentions and heartless actions, a repugnant web spun from gimmicks, illusions, and deceptions, in which crude gains for the short term are always pushed ahead of worthwhile gains for the long term. Capitalism is a shiny fraud, a one-way road to a lifetime of narrow servility for unwary citizens. Capitalism is a lie hidden within another lie.

Capitalism is the evil tool that enables banks and corporations, for their own considerable benefit, to oppress, exploit, and control huge numbers of people. Capitalism is an ally to those who are wealthy, but an enemy to those who are poor. Capitalism is a black hole of perpetual destruction, infinitely malign and infinitely dangerous, containing no particle of hope or goodness.
