At this stage of the ongoing pandemic, in 2026, it should be unmistakably apparent to any rational person that the uncontrolled spread of Covid-19 poses a grievous danger to every human life. My father, seemingly a devout Catholic, took up with another woman (a divorced Mormon with two children) when I was twelve, and left our family in February, 1966, leading to my father and my mother getting a divorce. I had never been close to my father, so his departure, in itself, did not perturb me. After he was divorced from my mother, he soon married the other woman and moved into her house, living not far from us, pretending to be the "father" of her children, while showing no concern for the well-being of his own children, regularly failing to keep up with his obligation of paying child support in a timely manner. He proved himself to be patently condemnable as a man and a father: callous, selfish, deceitful, and thoughtless. President Trump's War Against Iran Is Proving to Be a Hugely Expensive Undertaking

When irrational leaders choose, for their own irrational reasons, to wantonly engage in evil activities of mass killing and mass destruction, it does not come cheap. To offer a current example: the reckless war against Iran started by President Donald J. Trump (with malign support from Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel) on February 28, 2026, is proving to be a hugely expensive undertaking. Eric Clapton was born in 1945, in Surrey, England, and began to play the guitar as a teenager. He was especially drawn to the earthy sound of American music, particularly the blues of Robert Johnson, Freddie King, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Buddy Guy. At the age of seventeen he joined The Roosters, and later played with Casey Jones and The Engineers. In October, 1963, he joined The Yardbirds, staying with them until March, 1965, and appearing on their first album, Five Live Yardbirds,  which was recorded during a performance at the Marquee Club in London and released in 1964. (It was during this time that Eric Clapton gained the nickname of "Slowhand.") When The Yardbirds had a hit in both the United Kingdom and the United States with "For Your Love" (written by Graham Gouldman), Eric Clapton became unhappy and resolved to quit the band, saying that he wanted only to play authentic blues.
