Covid-19 in 2023: Another Year of Danger and Denial

In February, 2023, the overwhelming danger of Covid-19 is unquestionably worse than ever, but unfortunately, so is the collective denial of that danger. The virus itself is everywhere, with no credible attempts having been made to stop it from spreading, and, as a result, most people have been forced to suffer the unwholesome burden of repeated infections, leading to many millions of people around the world, both young and old, falling seriously ill, and many millions perishing. The authorities who should be working hard to maintain the highest standards of health and safety have, instead, permitted mass illness to prevail, enabling it to become a perpetual condition of everyday life.

It appears that mankind has gone utterly astray, perhaps irrevocably. During the few years since the pandemic was first declared in 2020, most people have shut down their minds, ceasing to think in a rational manner, casually abandoning all semblance of sanity, integrity, and morality. They have recklessly surrendered, yielding their well-being to the heartless powers of deception and delusion, blindly choosing to dismiss the uncomfortable evidence of the rampant harm being done by Covid-19. They are desperately pretending that the pandemic is "over," even as the virus continues to gain strength and continues to expand its fatal dominion.

Our leaders have sought to confuse us by telling lies about Covid-19. Lies about the virus being "mild" and "not a threat." Lies about the "benefits" of uncontrolled disease. Outright lies that can be easily proven false, but are still regularly, and quite deliberately, supported by untrustworthy voices in the media. The pandemic has revealed "public health" to be no more than a shallow fiction, a fraudulent structure of gross dishonesty and unrepentant cowardice. Without radical measures to prevent the virus from pursuing its stealthy course of ongoing destruction, it is horribly certain that our current state will increasingly falter, inevitably putting us at a harrowing disadvantage.

The overt madness and pitiless depravity of the pandemic is, to an unmistakable extent, merely the usual wrongdoing of capitalism, wildly manifesting itself to the utmost degree. Within the capitalist mentality, every decision has vile avarice as its underlying purpose, and every outcome is narrowly judged by the amount of money that it represents, with no concern given to human values. Mass illness is a flourishing business for pharmaceutical corporations, so they are loath to discover an effective way of treating Covid-19. Pfizer and other greedy companies find it preferable to market their expensive drugs to "customers" who are constantly sick.

A profound change in how we deal with the virus is urgently required. The lack of direct action against Covid-19 is completely wrong and grievously unsustainable. It is a policy of shameful, coldblooded negligence, a policy that, if humanity intends to survive into the future, must be rejected and reversed. Unless those in authority do what they are obligated to do, we will have to contend with more irreparable damage from Covid-19. As long as leaders and citizens alike foolishly refuse to acknowledge the full truth regarding the virus, many more human lives will be needlessly ruined, and many more human lives will be needlessly lost.
