Artificial Intelligence Is an Enemy of Human Values

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being forced upon us by our corporate masters, who seek to use it for the foul purpose of controlling our lives. Day by day, artificial intelligence is expanding its repugnant dominion, deeply encroaching on our daily experience, crudely violating the integrity of our thoughts, our beliefs, our feelings, our motives, our decisions, and our actions, thereby irrevocably diminishing our worth as human beings.

Unquestionably, artificial intelligence is an enemy of human values. Under the alluring guise of "convenience," the fundamental principles that provide a foundation for the regular course of human activity are being perverted by sinister tools that have the potential to brutally override our intentions, depriving us of the ability, and the right, to make our own choices and determine our own destiny. We are being pushed into a high-tech dictatorship.

Those who promote the acceptance of artificial intelligence are tricksters. The distressing truth of artificial intelligence is clearly evident in the first part of its name: "artificial." In other words, false, dishonest, deceitful, fraudulent, counterfeit. Not true, not believable, not credible. Artificial intelligence can never add up to anything more than a hollow deception. A wretched substitute for the priceless workings of the human intellect. 

At this fateful moment in history, when our common humanity is constantly subject to ruthless assault by a swarm of unrelenting evils, the loathsome contagion of artificial intelligence threatens to make our current situation immeasurably worse. Deferring to the callous, cold-blooded output of soulless applications that are not accountable for their judgments would, undoubtedly, prove to be a monstrous error.

Most people are, as yet, dangerously unaware of the extent to which artificial intelligence is swiftly invading the realm of human affairs, and therefore do not grasp, and do not fear, the unspeakable nightmare that looms ahead. When they do begin to grasp, and to fear, the digital tyranny that is coming, it will probably be too late. By then, irreparable damage will have been done, and artificial intelligence will have become an overwhelming plague.

The overlords of technology do not care about the quality of our lives. They care only about furthering their own greed and power. They are utterly devoid of essential morality, having no ethics to restrain their depraved ambitions. For them, artificial intelligence serves as a weapon of total domination, enabling them to enslave the masses and pursue an abominable goal of unchallenged rule.

To preserve our human values, we must resist the heinous advance of artificial intelligence. If we fail to offer a united front of wholehearted resistance now, if we choose, instead, to surrender, mutely and passively, we will soon stop thinking for ourselves, and it will only be a matter of time until we find that artificial intelligence has crushed our collective spirit, rendering us less than human.

In late October, 1972, when I was nineteen, two of my friends and I attended a concert by David Bowie, who was making his first tour of the United States, promoting his latest album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars .
